| Dubai Metro project comes in for praise |

Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), recently received Paul Stephen, Consul-General of the US in Dubai.The visit is in line with the RTA's aim to improve cooperation with local and international organisations and governments. They discussed the means of exchanging expertise between the RTA and its counterpart in the US and the existing cooperative links with the American companies operating in the field of road transport. The discussions also covered roads and infrastructure projects to be undertaken in Dubai. Al Tayer said the RTA is committed to introducing the best practices at all project stages. “Visits made by American officials help in exchanging ideas about the development of the transport sector,” he added. The US Consul-General hailed the responsibilities shouldered by the RTA in delivering road projects, such as bridges across Dubai Creek. He also praised the Dubai Metro project and efforts to expand the marine transport network. |
